Throughout each stage of its development, the Alaska Family Council has worked closely with Focus on the Family, one of the most respected and effective pro-family organizations in the country. Our intent in the near future is to establish an official association with them as a family policy council or FPC.  FPC's have served as state-based pro-family, public policy groups for nearly 20 years. Since 1988, they have worked in collaboration with Dr. James Dobson and Focus on the Family to represent, strengthen and protect families in the public arena of ideas, culture and law. Currently, there are FPC's in 34 states working throughout the year to protect marriage, lift up the sanctity of life and defend traditional values. This network of state-based FPC's are some of the leading pro-family groups in the country and are playing a key role in the formation of public policy and public opinion at the state and local level.  In many states, the professionalism and credibility of FPC's are so well established that government officials and journalists consistently seek them out as a resource in the crafting and reporting of public policy.

We are thankful that, in order to ensure long-term viability and a strategic, professional operation, Focus on the Family has set high standards for association.  But in order to meet those guidelines, which include solid funding and strategic organizing, we need your help. Every gift will obviously be appreciated and put to good use but as we begin to lay the foundation for a permanent pro-family, public policy presence in Alaska, please consider, if you are able, partnering with us at the $500, $1,000 or above level. We need these levels of first time investors to establish a foundation, lay down a strategic direction and build a permanent, effective organization.
